Our Story

Anna and Connor met in Charleston, South Carolina, in September 2021. At the time, Connor was beginning his second year of medical school, and Anna was finishing nursing school — both at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). One Saturday, with no plans on the horizon, Anna’s best friend Emma suggested they meet up with some of her “med school buddies.” They ended up at Biergarten, where the group was watching the Clemson football game. (Connor still remembers that day — Clemson lost to NC State, but he didn’t even mind, because he met Anna.) The group spent the rest of the day together, hitting it off so well that they were practically inseparable for the rest of the fall. After months of a wonderful friendship, Connor finally asked Anna out — just two weeks before she was set to move across the country to Arizona for her first nursing job (better late than never!). Their first date was on Sullivan’s Island at Station 18, a spot that would later inspire the name of their beloved dog, Sullivan — or “Sully.” After nearly a year of long distance between Charleston and Arizona, Anna moved back to Charleston to work as a nurse at MUSC while Connor finished medical school. Today, they live in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, with their spunky dachshund. They both work at UNC Hospital — Connor as a resident physician in Internal Medicine, and Anna as a Rapid Response Nurse. Anna and Connor’s relationship is filled with love, laughter, countless inside jokes, an enthusiastic obsession with their dog, and a shared fascination with Gordon Ramsay’s MasterChef. They are each other’s home, calm in the storm, and steady source of support. They look forward to all the joy and adventure that lies ahead in this next chapter together.
