Desiree and Justice met at the Black Leadership Summit in Washington, DC in 2019. After participating in multiple Blexit events the two have become best friends ever since. Despite the conflicting schedules the two have still managed to keep in contact a share hilarious articles and memes regarding various the apocalyptic times that we are in. Fun Facts: Justice is an amazing whistler, can whistle almost every Disney song.

We while running the kitchen together at Chick-fil-a back in 2008 where we spent countless hours debating and conversing over endless sports topics; Mostly the NFL and Fantasy Football, and how bad the Redskins were, RIP. Roommates from ‘09 to ’11. Just about every Sunday afternoon in the fall we were at the Milioni house watching Red Zone with the crew enjoying Dwayne & Kay’s delicious cooking. Jarrod moved to Chicago in 2012, but we have stayed close ever since and make it point to meet up at least a couple times a year.

Jake and Cameron met in 10th grade at Franklin Academy and have been cuttin' up ever since. Adventures include: Prom, hiking the Appalachian Trail, a cross country road trip, Vegas, bridge jumping, multiple kidnappings, and peanut butter slaps, etc. Jake lives in Asheville, NC with his wife Carolyn and their two dogs The Weej and Tupelo.

There I was, in my late 20s in a new city wondering how the heck do you meet anyone!? I stumbled upon some brunchin’ babes meetup group and attended a happy hour that would introduce me to my numba 1 girl in Durham. Desiree and I naturally clicked, leading that group from bar to bar! We ended up going on the next meetup hike together too....and of course led that group through the woods like the natural born leaders we are. From there Danielle just knew that she could not get enough from this girl! From trivia nights to arts festivals (so we could admire all the art of course!!) we truly became besties bopping around Durham! I stand by the quote “no one will ever be as entertained by us as us”.

When Cam and Madison became friends in Middle School, it started with a band, parking lot football, and a secret handshake. 15 years later they are still always up to their crazy shenanigans. Whether it's making outrageous bets on football games, playing golf (horribly), or trying out a new brewery, there’s always something exciting going on with these two—and it always ends in a secret handshake!

I remember meeting Desiree at the sushi place in Raleigh by NCSU we didn’t get a chance to talk much that day but since then we have had many trips, coffee with my mom, and family dinners. Desiree truly already feel like a part of our family, but I am so excited for her to marry my big brother and continue to have many shared moments as family.

Desiree and I officially met at our first church breakfast at Cam’s house in the first few weeks of COVID. She made breakfast for so many people and I was amazed of her hospitality and eagerness to serve anyone who walked through the door. ❤️ I admire her selfless nature, her eagerness to serve in ANY capacity, and her unconditional love for Christ and His church!
