A mutual friend of ours thought it would be a good idea for us to meet. After several weeks of staying in touch we had our first date on January 18th, 2016. Neither of us had any expectations for the evening but we hit it off from the moment we sat down. The rest, as they say, is history. We have been inseparable and growing ever since! #ShoutouttoDeb

Every year we go on a small trip for our anniversary. For 2019 we decided to rent a secluded cabin in Masanutten for the weekend for some R&R. On the last day of our trip and the day of our actual anniversary Earl decided he wanted to take one more short hike on the mountain before we hit the road to come home. It had snowed the night before so the trip up the mountain was....nerve-wracking to say the least. But we made it! Once up on the mountain we started walking a bit and came across this beautiful wooden bridge. It was here that Earl took my hand and got down on one knee, shaking (from either nerves or the cold depending on who you ask) and asked me to marry him. Now we get to go on an even bigger trip together...through life. We're so excited to share this moment of our journey with you!
