Question

When & Where

Answer

When? Friday, October 25th, 2024 Where? Blackstone Rivers Ranch 3673 Chicago Creek Rd, Idaho Springs, CO 80452

Question

I've never been to Colorado! Will I have trouble with altitude?

Answer

Better safe than sick! We recommend getting into Denver at least a day or two before the wedding if you're not sure how your body will handle the altitude. Altitude sickness can happen to anyone, and is no joke! However, with a little preparation, you can keep it at bay and still have a great time: - Hydrate, hydrate, then hydrate some more! Liquid IV or your favorite electrolyte add-in can be a game changer. - EAT! We will offer plenty of hearty apps and a full dinner, but make sure you're eating throughout the day and your stay. - Have fun, but be mindful! Colorado legally offers a multitude of ways to enjoy yourself, which we encourage you to enjoy if you wish! If you're not used to consuming marijuana or alcohol at altitude however, we highly recommend starting small and playing it safe.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Colorado in the fall is absolutely stunning, but a little fickle when it comes to the temperature! We recommend bringing layers of clothing for your time here, checking your weather app a day or two before coming out, and planning for temperatures between 30 - 70 degrees. If you plan to hike while you're here, we definitely recommend bringing a hat and warm socks!

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We recommend staying in Golden at one our recommended hotels listed under the Travel tab! Even if you stay elsewhere in Golden or if a hotel is sold out, you can use the free shuttle at either preferred hotel if you arrive in time to board it. Airbnb in Golden or near Idaho Springs are also plentiful, and can be a nice intimate option for the weekend. If you'd prefer to stay in Denver (~1 hr from venue), we recommend stying close to I-70 and no further east than downtown.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Cocktail attire with warm layers - and don't be afraid to let your color shine through! A Colorado autumn can be sunny and 65 to bust-out-your-cozies-weather within a few hours. The ceremony will be outside while the sun's out, while dinner and reception will take place in a well-heated tent (seriously, it gets warm!), so please consider outer-layers that you can add or remove. Whether it's a suit and tie, your favorite little black/colorful dress, a dress shirt and slacks, or a snazzy jumpsuit, we encourage you to dress your cocktail-hour-best. Wear whatever makes you feel AMAZING and ready to dance!

Question

Can I bring my children?

Answer

While we adore your little ones, we are unfortunately not able to accommodate any additional guests (young or old) that are not already listed on your invitation.

Question

Can you tell me about the food and drink situation?

Answer

We'll be providing warm hors d'oeuvre, a live stations-style dinner and dessert, late night snacks, and an open bar throughout the evening. Please note that no outside alcohol is permitted at the venue for liability purposes, so we encourage you to enjoy what you'd like from the wide selection of wine, beer, spirits, and cocktails that we provide! We are currently planning to accommodate for the following food allergies through a wide variety of options: Gluten free Nut allergy Vegan Vegetarian Shellfish If you have an allergy or restriction, please let us know when you RSVP.

Question

Can I Lyft/Uber to or from the venue?

Answer

Unfortunately, probably not. We're so excited to celebrate with you in all the gorgeous nature that our state offers, however, that also means limited cell reception and limited ride-share availability.

Question

How do I get to/from the venue?

Answer

Car: If you plan to drive, there is free parking at the venue for you to use until the celebration ends. Just make sure you're able to drive back though, as your car will be towed if left overnight. Shuttle: Plan on enjoying our open bar? Great, us too! We recommend using the free shuttle leaving at either recommended hotel in the Travel tab (you do not need to stay there to use the shuttle, but need to board/exit the shuttle from there). The shuttle will drop off guests at the venue at 3:45, and will depart the venue at 8:30pm and 10:30pm making trips to both hotels.

Question

Is smoking/vaping allowed at the venue?

Answer

There is a designated smoking/vaping area near the parking lot, so please keep all activity to that area. Please note that the venue does NOT allow smoking THC on the property, and is incredibly strict about this. If you would like to partake and you already have a handle on your edibles tolerance, we recommend grabbing an edible from a nearby dispensary.
