How We Met

They were pretty lucky... they almost didn't meet each other. The night they met, Hannah was planning on a concert and Evan was going to stay home to wake up early the next day. Each changed their plans at the prompting of friends, went against their introverted natures, and decided to go to their friends' lake party. When Hannah first saw Evan, he quickly introduced himself and then went running off the edge of the dock, catapulting wildly into the lake. Later that night, Hannah very gracefully sprayed everyone swimming in the lake with water while belly flopping onto the dock trying to pull herself out of the water. Needless to say, they went on their first date a few days later. Jump to about a year later, and they were along the MN North Shore. Evan had a master plan. He had champagne, glasses, and the ring. They stopped at Gooseberry Falls, walked around for a while, and went to get ready to go to the next destination, a rock beach at Tettegouche State Park. While Hannah was waiting in the car, Evan went to the trunk to prep. He grabbed the champagne, the glasses, and the ring, but there was a wrench in his master plan... how was he going to carry all of this down to the beach without Hannah seeing? He tried really hard to hide everything inside his coat. It didn't really work. Hannah was gracious though, and pretended not to know what was going on. They arrived at the beach, plastic champagne glasses squeaking together in Evan's coat the entire way. Evan said some stuff. Neither of them remember what it was. Evan got down on one knee, or, well, tried to. He took too short of a step. He tried again, but he stepped forward with his left leg. He couldn't go down on one knee on his left leg, no way. The third time was the charm. Evan managed to get down on one knee, asked Hannah the question, and opened the ring box, err... well... upside down. Fumbling quickly, he righted it, and asked again. Hannah said yes. The end. Thanks for reading!
