During one of my weekly Thai D friend dinners with Joe Dunmire, I had mentioned that the guy in his latest facebook video was super cute. The next thing I know, this "guy" sent me a facebook message. His name was Don Rieger. We started talking and the rest is history.
Don came to my apartment and picked me up on his Harley. We rode out to his house where we hung out with his sister and Joe (who happened to be dating as well). We went 4-wheeler riding and we just clicked. I had just started my job at the hospital so I had to be to work the next day. He made sure I was home at a decent time. He was a complete gentleman.
While planning a surprise birthday party for Don, I had all of our closest friends at the Grotto in Carbondale. I was so excited, I had planned everything so perfectly. Once we arrived, I opened the curtain to the backroom (awaiting the sounds of surprise or happy birthday) there was silence. I was so mad! Why wasn't anyone saying anything? As I walked in the room I realized that Don's surprise party wasn't a surprise for him at all, it was a suprise proposal for me. Our "friends" had decorated for him while leading me to believe they were decorating for me. He got down on one knee and proposed. We then went upstairs and ate dinner at the Newell House.
