We love to explore, hike, camp and be outside... and we wanted our wedding to reflect our journey so far. Our hope is that everyone who is able to attend and celebrate with us gets to experience the wonder of this magical place and leaves with a bit of love for it, just like we did when we first came here.
We have recommended two hotels in the Travel section of our website (The Zion Lodge and Hampton Inn), but there are lots of options online in Springdale, the small town in the canyon directly outside of the park, in a wide range of budget options. The Bridal party will be staying at an airbnb next to The Switchback Grille where the reception will take place. If you'd like stay walking distance from the reception, search for accommadation within a block or two of The Switchback Grille online!
We recommend Canyon Coffee for a truly fantastic latte and atmosphere- and a great pastry! Closer to the park, Perks has great coffee as well and comes in at a close second.
We recommend The Park House for a fantastic breakfast or grabbing a pastry at FeelLove Coffee.
The Spotted Dog is great for a romantic night out of American/Italian, and we also love Thai Sapa if you love asian food as much as we do! If you're looking for more of a casual spot, you can't beat Porter's for the view and the burgers.
We highly recommend the Zion Pizza & Noodle (it's great for kids of all ages). :)
Definitely rent a walking stick, water shoes and neoprene socks from Zion Outfitter. It's worth the investment! Trust us when we say regular shoes and socks don't cut it. Don't say we didn't warn you. :)
You can hike all the way to way to Scout Lookout without a permit. Due to crowding on the chain portion of the trail, you need to make sure to apply for permit to hike the chain route online here: https://www.nps.gov/zion/planyourvisit/angels-landing-hiking-permits.htm We don't recommend the chain portion to anyone with a fear of heights. The rest of the trail is a perfectly manageable difficult uphill trail with great views, so make sure you're in reasonable shape or ready with water to take lots of breaks!
We recommend the Lower Emerald Pools trail, which is 1.3 miles and very little elevation gain, the Riverside Walk, which is flat, paved trail that follows the Virgin River through Zion Canyon about 2.2 miles round trip and very accessible, and the Canyon Overlook Trail, a 2 mile round trip hike with moderate elevation gain that offers panoramic views of the canyon.
