Sam and Craig started working together in June of 2019. Their offices were right next to each other and Craig frequently came over to Sam's office to offer his assistance on projects. They were both studying for exams and would frequently "run" into each other studying at a local coffee shop. The day before Sam took her exam Craig asked for her number so that she could tell him if she passed and celebrate. Sam did in fact pass and they celebrated at a local tavern together talking for hours. Fast forward a few weeks, Craig was still studying for his exam and Sam was studying for another exam when they both ended up at the same coffee shop. Craig invited her to watch the Alabama game at his house knowing full well she had no interest in football. Sam went and watched the game even though she despised watching sports. Craig took his exam on Halloween and then asked Sam to be his girlfriend the next day.

Sam planned a trip to Fort Lauderdale after finishing her first upper level exam. Craig asked her to keep Friday afternoon free but she planned everything else. Fast forward to the airport, Craig was flagged by security and refused to let Sam wait for him. This made Sam very suspicious and persistently ask what they were doing Friday afternoon. Friday afternoon finally came and Craig had planned a gondola ride through the canals. The views on the ride were breathtaking but Craig was extremely nervous. About half way through the ride the gondolier exclaimed that we had hit something! Craig was freaking out that the boat was broken or maybe it was really about what he would do next. Sam told Craig they were fine, land was close and that they both could swim. Then the gondolier pulled up the glass bottle we had "hit" and handed it to Sam. Inside was Craig's sweet proposal letter to Sam and when she looked up from reading the letter there was Craig on one knee. Sam said yes and they had a much more relaxing ride back to shore talking, laughing, and gazing at the sunset.
