Believe us when we say we are keeping our eyes on things. Obviously, we will be sure to update everyone as we go along, but at this time we are not making any changes to the wedding itself. We have spoken with our caterer who has let us know he is letting everything go along as planned unless something happens to have to force him to change his mind. We will be evaluating the situation as time goes on. Everyone keep their fingers and toes crossed.
All car reservations can be made only by phone starting on January 7, 2020. If you do plan to take your car on the ferry, you will have to take it out of Point Judith, RI as New London, CT does not accept car reservations, only passenger. Please refer to www.blockislandferry.com for schedules and car reservation information.
No, there will not be transportation provided from all guest hotel locations to the Cushman House. Since all guests will be staying in different areas, it would be too difficult to organize transportation. There are MANY cab companies available on Block Island that we will provide a list of phone numbers for.
There is parking available, but we would like to keep it limited. If you are planning on driving, please let us know. We are happy to help coordinate cab transport to the Cushman House. Our catering team is going to need space to set up their tent to cook us all yummy food!
Ferries out of New London during the week in early June are limited. If you are planning on heading to the Island on Thursday, or earlier, you will have to take the ferry out of Point Judith, RI.
We want this to be a fun, care-free night for all. We ask that young children do not attend.
You don’t ever have to leave if you don’t want to! Make a mini-vacation out of it, stay through the weekend, do whatever you want! If you are able, take advantage of staying as long as you are able. We are renting our house (The Cushman House) from Tuesday, June 2nd through Tuesday, June 9th! So come, stay & hang!
There is a ferry that departs Block Island at 8:10PM and heads to New London and one that departs Block Island at 7PM and heads to Point Judith which means you would miss the end of the reception, but do what you have to do!
Literally, wear whatever you want. Keep it casual, but classy. Be comfortable, but cool. (Example: the bride does not plan on wearing shoes, this is a beach wedding after all).
The Cushman House will double as where we are staying for the week as well as our wedding venue. There is a short walk down a path that spits you out at the beach, that is where the ceremony will take place! The path starts off as a dirt/grass ground, but eventually turns to sand. If you don't care about getting sand in your shoes, neither do we, but also feel free to go barefoot!
