Dylan and Michael’s story began the way many modern love stories do — Hinge. Though they first connected in 2016, it wasn’t until five years later, after life had taken them down different paths, that a single DM on Instagram brought them back together. At that time, Michael was a first-year medical student in Boston, falling asleep in lecture and dreaming of changing the world. Dylan, meanwhile, was celebrating a personal milestone, wrapping up his first investment property in Kentucky. One FaceTime call was all it took for sparks to fly. What followed was a long-distance relationship fueled by weekend flights and stolen moments between Boston and Louisville. As Michael finished his clinical rotations, Dylan took a leap of faith - packing up his life in a 20’ UHaul and moving to the Northeast to build a life together. From four-wheeling through the woods of Dylan’s childhood home to traveling around the world side by side, cheering at marathon finish lines, and pushing each other to grow and savor life in new ways (especially Dylan’s palate), our love continued to grow. On January 12, 2025, completely unsuspecting and dressed for a casual hike, Dylan arrived at the top of Kamehame Ridge in Oahu, where Michael proposed against the panoramic backdrop of the Koʻolau Mountains and Waimānalo Beach, 1,000 feet below. We are beyond excited and grateful to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with our favorite people in the world!
