Dylan and McKenna knew of each other because of soccer, but officially met during their 8th grade year. They had study hall at the end of the day together and spent more time talking to each other than doing any homework. McKenna quickly developed feelings for Dylan and she thought that he was developing feelings for her too. Then one day Dylan asked McKenna who she liked and McKenna told him she wasn’t going to tell him. McKenna then asked him who he likes and he looked her in the eyes and said “I don’t like anyone”. McKenna was very discouraged after hearing that, if he didn’t like anyone then he must not like her. However, McKenna enjoyed having Dylan as a friend and if that’s all he wanted them to be then she was okay with that. The two enjoyed each other’s company so much that they started hanging out, outside of school too. They spent many afternoons at pioneer park playing soccer together. During this time they discovered that they had lived a couple houses down from each other for a short time when they were younger. (I guess you could say she did end up with the boy next door) After a few months of talking all the time and hanging out at the soccer fields together Dylan asked McKenna out. At this time, however, McKenna didn’t think Dylan had any feelings for her and was interested in someone else. Because of this McKenna turned him down, but basically told him he should try again later. Two years went by and they talked here and there, but nothing ever happened between them because McKenna had dated other people. Then the sophomore year homecoming football game came around and McKenna and her friends showed up too late to get a spot in the “standing student section”, so they were forced to sit in the section next to most of their peers. McKenna (recently single) turns to walk down the only open section of bleachers and to her surprise Dylan just happens to be sitting in the same isle. The two talked the whole game and have talked to each other every day since. The two quickly became close once again, but assured their families “they were just friends”. They continued to get to know each other and both assumed the other one had feelings for them. Then one day, in between semester tests on January 10th 2017, Dylan asked McKenna to be his girlfriend and she said yes! This is why they chose to get married on January 10th. On their wedding day they will have been together for exactly 8 years.
