Laura and Dylan’s story started on a Friday night in June 2023 when Laura found herself third-wheeling with a friend and her boyfriend. Hoping to balance things out, she suggested they bring another friend along. Enter Dylan. The group met up in Indianapolis, and while Dylan had been told the night was essentially a setup, Laura wasn't exactly approaching it with the same enthusiasm. When Dylan tried to dance with her, she thought it was a little awkward—but she went along with it anyway. The next morning, Dylan asked Laura out, and she agreed... only to cancel the day of. Not long after, though, Laura realized she might have made a mistake. She wasn’t sure she was ready to date, but there was something about Dylan she couldn’t stop thinking about, so she reached back out to see if he was still interested. Thankfully, he was. For their first official date, Dylan picked Laura up from her parents’ house before heading to La Hacienda in Carmel. He knocked on the door, introduced himself to Laura’s mom, Yeni, and her family dog Rosie (“The Big Boofy”), and opened every car door along the way. It was a level of effort Laura had never experienced before, and both she and her mom left impressed. In fact, after meeting him, Yeni immediately declared, “You found a good one.” From there, things moved quickly—in the best way. Between dinner dates, gym dates, and finding every excuse to spend time together, they were soon seeing each other almost every day. On September 1, 2023, during a trip to Kings Island, Dylan asked Laura—in Spanish—to be his girlfriend, a moment that still makes them laugh. Since then, they've traveled extensively, developed a slight obsession with cruises, bonded over their love of Mexican food, and built a life centered around the things they enjoy most: traveling, cooking together, staying active, and planning their next adventure. On July 11, 2024, Dylan completely surprised Laura with a proposal on a beach in Sarasota. What she thought was simply a nice dinner turned into one of the most memorable days of her life when she arrived to find Dylan waiting in a beautifully planned proposal setup. In February 2026, they took another exciting step and bought their first home together. Now, they’re counting down the days until their wedding and looking forward to celebrating with the people who have been part of their story from the very beginning.
