In early 2018, Kim went about her business as usual. She had an errand to run for work so she tossed on a baggy t-shirt and a baseball cap, got her best friend Ron in the car and drove over to the shop. When she walked in she had no idea that she was about to meet her future husband. Kim barrels through the door expecting the friendly face of a known coworker to find Dylan in a tie-dye t-shirt with wild curly hair and a subdued smile. Kim surely cracked a few jokes trying to break the ice seeing as Dylan was stunned by her big personality and even bigger smile. They exchanged information that day, for work purposes of course, and began corresponding immediately. Kim and Dylan spoke every day for months, building a fast friendship. Eventually Dylan knew he had to make a move seeing as Kim was his bosses’ boss. Dylan then quit his job, found another and decided that Kim was going to be his forever. The two continued to date for months before sharing their first kiss then shortly after made their relationship official. Kim and Dylan celebrated 4 years together on August 24th, 2022. They currently reside together in Lilburn, GA with their sweet kitties.
Dylan and Kim had been planning to go visit family in Florida since the holidays but due to illness had to reschedule. After a whirlwind of circumstances that kept them from traveling, one day Kim looked at Dylan and said, "Hey, want to go to Florida this weekend?" Dylan laughed until he realized she was serious. They decided to take a last minute trip down to go see Dylan's grandparents. They made the getaway happen knowing they would only have a few days away from reality to spend together as well as with family. Upon arriving, they landed at Harry's, home of Pat, Dylan's Grandmother's weekly friend meet-up. Kim meandered in and greeted George, Dylan's Grandfather. While George and Kim poked fun at each other Dylan was crouched over by Pat showing off the engagement ring he had worked so hard to obtain from Kim's Father (Mark.) Moments later Kim and George wandered back to the table and the group sat, shared drinks and caught up. The next morning Kim and Dylan enjoyed George's breakfast specialty, Biscuits and Sausage Gravy and shared more stories and memories together. Later that day they explored Carrabelle, stopping by the Junction to see how it changed over the years, driving by the old school and cemetery and stopping in the Mercantile to buy a gift for their roommate, Chrissy. Dylan regaled Kim with tales from his childhood, stories about old friends and getting into trouble. They met for lunch with Dylan's sister Zoie then went back to the Fish camp to spend more time with Pat and George. After a stellar dinner (Kim's very first time having meatloaf, to be exact) and cracking jokes with Pat and George, Dylan and Kim decided to go take a walk at the beach. They got in the car and drove to the New Beach (you can ask Kim or Dylan why old beach was not an option, something to do with getting a car stuck in the mud last trip...) They parked at the pavilions and headed towards the ocean. The two held hands and slowly meandered towards The Point. On their path they exchanged stories, pointed out constellations, poked sea cucumbers and made each other laugh, a regular occurrence in their relationship. Kim could tell Dylan was getting nervous, he was feeling around in his pocket waiting for the right moment to ask. Moments later Dylan got down on one knee (that's right, on the beach) and asked Kim to be his forever. She said, and I quote, "yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes!" Dylan then put Kim's mom Sandy's engagement ring on her ring finger. After sharing that beautiful moment on the beach under the stars, the pair shared a kiss and the hauled it back to the car seeing as it was 45 degrees out. When they arrived back to the house, Pat and George had a bottle of champagne on ice. The four of them shared the bottle then went to sleep knowing they were the only people who knew of this special moment that night. The next morning Dylan and Kim began calling family and sharing the excellent news!
