We volunteered at a local outdoor education school in Bailey. Between getting in some time in the mountains, some time volunteering, and some time together, we had some of the best times of our early life together at Outdoor Lab. Sure, Dylan might have taken his time getting around to ask Kally out and sure, Kally might have just decided to ask him first, but both of us are so lucky to have crossed paths. We continued volunteering at Outdoor Lab for several years after first meeting and we are overjoyed to have it as the fantastic beginning of our life together.
Kally got her degree in Art History and French from Colgate University in New York while Dylan got his degree in Geology and Biology from CU Boulder. We did long-distance during college and fell more in love every text, Skype, and long flight. We got on our feet after college living with our pals (SHOUT OUT CHELSEA AND GALEN!) but soon took a plunge, got some cats, and very romantically signed a lease together in an economical apartment in Denver. Every couple has growing pains at this step, and while Dylan learned that one house CAN have multiple spatulas Kally learned how to get Real Housewives on the Xbox. Dylan is currently a geologist at an environmental consulting company (and yes, he's ready for any rock-based pun you got) while Kally is learning to be a computer wizard who builds beautiful and dream-like cityscapes in her pursuit of a masters in architecture. Then, here is the kickoff for why you're reading this love-sick gloating...... He proposed! July 25, 2020 Dylan took Kally on a whirlwind tour of all of our favorite places in Denver. From our first date spot at Lakeside Amusement Park to our favorite bar, Ale House, and to the Pepsi Center and Red Rocks, we ran around, met up with our friends and finally ended up back where we belong - the mountains! Kally had just been tricked into getting her nails done the day before, there was a professional photographer, we had our whole family hiding behind a barn, and Hannah live streamed it onto the interwebs. He took her hand, said a few words of his love, and got on his knee to ask the big question. She said yes, her eyes couldn't believe the ring, and they kissed for the first time as partners for life. What ensued was champagne, family, friends, and a couple ill-advised attempts at a speech by Dylan but what comes now - that's the real fun!!
