Dylan and I first met in high school and dated during our freshman year. I was close friends with his cousins, who were in my class in Warren, while Dylan attended Stockton. Even after our freshman year relationship, we stayed connected over the years through mutual friends, school events, and small-town life. In the summer of 2023, we reconnected and instantly fell back into conversation like no time had passed. What started as catching up quickly turned into something more, and it became clear that the timing was finally right for us. We spent that summer together making memories, laughing constantly, and realizing how naturally we fit into each other’s lives. After reconnecting and building a life together, Dylan proposed on my birthday, August 14, 2025, in our living room with his chocolate lab, Hershey. Hershey wore a bandana that read, “Will you marry me?” It was such a meaningful and personal moment; cozy, heartfelt, and perfectly reflective of who we are as a couple. Looking back now, it feels like our story came full circle. After years of knowing each other, growing up separately, and finding our way back together, we’re so grateful that life brought us back to one another when it did.
