Things To Do

Travel around Boston like a local with the guide below. We’ve rounded up a mix of our favorite spots around the city — from go-to food and coffee shops to fun things to see and do. As self-proclaimed foodies, we aimed for a well-balanced list… though we might have leaned a little heavily in one direction

Thrive

169 Massachusetts Avenue, Arlington, MA 02474

Dylan found this smoothie shop during COVID and then we started going together as one of our few outings while the world was shut down so this is always a special stop for us.

Honeycomb

1702 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02138

It's summer! Take an ice cream tour too. Dylan loves ice cream so we've really found the best of the best.

Life Alive

22 John F. Kennedy Street, Cambridge, MA 02138

There's a bunch of Life Alive locations so choose any of them and grab a smoothie.

Faro

5 Arrow Street, Cambridge, MA 02138

Go grab a coffee at Faro cafe. It's a very small space and usually busy and loud but their coffee is delicious and they have an ordering window so you're not crowded for long.

Satellite

877 Cambridge Street, Cambridge, MA 02141

Another one of our favorites for coffee! This is right down the street from our old apartment in Cambridge too. Satellite is a space, like Gufo, that offers coffee and pastries in the morning and then beers and snacks throughout the day. Be sure to check out their hidden patio to enjoy your beverage in the fresh air.

Gufo

660 Cambridge Street, Cambridge, MA 02141

In case you haven't noticed yet, we're bringing you on a coffee tour if you're following this list. Stop by our favorite cafe / restaurant for a cup of coffee and a treat or for a delicious pizza. Fun fact: the colors in the cafe portion of the space are the colors we used to paint our bedroom

New City Microcreamery

403 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02139

Grab an ice cream at our favorite place! You can't go wrong with any of these flavors

Verveine

298 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02139

And finally, one of Cloe's favorite places. This is a dedicated gluten free cafe, but you would never know because everything is incredible. It's honestly best we moved before it opened because it'd be too tempting to take the quick walk over to grab something special

MIT Sailing Pavilion

134 Memorial Drive, Cambridge, MA 02139

Go watch the sailboats on the Charles River. Grab a croissant and sit on the benches to watch the boats or go for a walk along Memorial Drive.

Fenway Park

4 Jersey Street, Boston, MA 02215

Go see the Red Sox play at Fenway Park! We used to bike to games all the time when we lived in Cambridge. We think the record is 16 games in one season. Cloe had a friend who was trying to see 25 games before 25 otherwise this would've never happened.

Beacon Hill

Charles St, Boston, MA 02114

Walk around the neighborhood! It's so fun to pop around the shops and look at the houses. Some of our frequented places are Acorn St, Beacon Hill Books & Cafe and Gus & Ruby.

Public Garden

Boston, MA 02116

Enjoy a walk through the gardens to see the flowers and the willow trees. Take a swan boat ride around the pond, walk across the footbridge and don't forget to say hello to the Make Way for Ducklings sculpture

New England Aquarium

1 Central Wharf, Boston, MA 02110

Stop by the New England Aquarium if you need a break from the summer heat and spend some time with the penguins, seals, and all the fish.

Museum of Fine Arts

465 Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02115

Stop by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston to explore one of the country’s largest art museums, with an incredible collection spanning ancient artifacts to contemporary works—perfect for wandering and discovering something new in every gallery.

Museum of Science

1 Science Park, Boston, MA 02114

Stop by the Museum of Science to explore hands-on exhibits, interactive science displays, and incredible views of the Charles River—one of Boston’s most fun and engaging museums for visitors of all ages.

Duck Boat Tour

1 Central Wharf, Boston, MA 02110

This is so touristy but also so fun. If you haven't spent much time in Boston, or honestly even if you have, this is a great way to see the city.

Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum

25 Evans Way, Boston, MA 02115

Stop by the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum to take in the stunning indoor courtyard and wander through one of Boston’s most unique museums—designed to feel like a Venetian palace and filled with art just as its founder arranged it over a century ago.

Puttshack - Boston

58 Pier 4 Boulevard, Boston, MA 02210

Head over to Puttshack for a round of high-tech indoor mini golf—complete with automatic scoring, great food, and drinks.

Castle Island

2080 Day Blvd, South Boston, MA 02127

Head over to Castle Island, where Cloe & Dylan spent a lot of time when they first met. Walk around the harbor, explore the surrounding neighborhoods, and get a glimpse of how they used to spend their weekends together—keep an eye out for the windsurfers too!
