In the small town of Montrose, Colorado and the not-so-small city of Los Angeles, California a guy and a girl made the decision to join the United States Navy and begin an adventure that would change their lives. Finishing bootcamp a month apart, Dylan and Caroline attended school in the same small base in Pensacola, Florida learning their jobs for months but never actually meeting until finally ending up at their first duty station aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln in Newport News, Virginia. In a serendipitous twist of fate, the two became part of the same close-knit group of friends. For the next two years through rough times, long work days, breakups with other people, and countless game nights, their friendship grew and she finally gained the courage to ask if he would ever consider dating her...and he said yes! On November 29, 2016, Dylan returned from a two month underway and officially commenced their relationship with the most amazing first kiss that would make any Disney princess green with envy. After six joyful months in their new relationship Dylan was transferred to Everett, Washington. During what would become three year's worth of a long distance relationship, they've driven across the country twice and from Everett, Washington to San Diego, California (an amazing test of relationship strength is to be trapped in a car with your significant other for days at a time). After nearly three years together, and several months of Caroline dropping the not-so-subtle hints that there was no one that she would rather spend the rest of her life with than Dylan, she decided that life is short and if nothing else he would know how sure she was of her love for him. After all, life is too short for subtlety! She asked him to marry her, and in case you haven't figured it out yet...he said yes! (I'm noticing a pattern). Don't worry he eventually got down on one knee and asked her too, it was all terribly romantic. And this is where the story continues...
