It all started in 2021 in the judgement free zone of the one and only….. Planet fitness. Dylan eventually messaged Cara on instagram mentioning recognizing her from the gym. Playing hard to get, Cara briskly replied that she was pretty sure she had never seen him before. As they continued to talk, Cara agreed to a date.

A table for two at Tavern on the Wharf. After a totally not awkward 45 minute ride with two people that hadn’t spent 5 minutes alone together, the actual first “date” of forever began. Dylan ordered a beer and underage Cara, a diet coke. The conversation was led by Cara and Dylan would promptly respond to every story with “That’s too funny.” Dylan thought the date went quite well while Cara wasn’t sure if she would see the “gym guy” again outside of Planet Fitness. They continued to talk through exchanging texts and lucky for Dylan, it was the time of COVID, and Cara was bored. Bored enough to go on a second date! Over time, a charming playful side of Dylan emerged, and Cara started to fall for Dylan. Date after date, late night talk after late night talk, there was something amazing developing. Dylan finally got to come ring the doorbell when he picked her up on dates!

After applying to dental school, Cara’s first acceptance came back from a school in Utah. She was excited, but nervous about making a big relocation across the country. Cara is extremely close to her family and friends which made her timid about moving so far. Without missing a beat, Dylan said that she didn't have to worry, because no matter where she went, she wouldn't be alone. He said he was with her all the way and when she said the word, he would pack up and move his life wherever she chose. Luckily there are understaffed hospitals all over. They picked out their first apartment in Salt Lake City, Utah and were preparing to start their lives together. However, after a short time, a twist was added. After committing to dental school in Utah, Cara received an acceptance from Tufts University of Dental Medicine. It was her dream school and soon enough they found a new (triple the price) apartment in Boston. As time passed, they quickly realized how amazing of a team they were, and how easy living together was for them. They decided to make it a little more interesting and added a cute addition with 4 paws to their family– Charlie. As they approached their 3 year anniversary of dating, Cara started to ask questions regarding next steps. They frequently talked about getting married and their next steps, but it seemed like a distant thought. Little did Cara know Dylan had already scheduled an appointment to make a big shiny purchase. After designing her dream ring, Dylan brought it back to Taunton to obtain the blessing from Cara’s family. After storing it for a short 6 months, he smuggled the ring on an international trip to Portugal. All while Cara had absolutely no idea what was about to happen. On April 9th of 2024, while enjoying their time in Azores, Dylan suggested that he and Cara go down to the cliffs to have someone take a couple nice pictures of them. Dylan sent Cara to their favorite spot as he asked a bystander to take a picture of them on his phone. What Cara didn’t know was that he was actually asking the lady to take a video, for he was about to propose. After making it over to where Cara was standing, Dylan began to proclaim his love and appreciation for Cara. Feeling confused, Cara dismissively answered that she loved him too but to stop talking and stand next to her because someone was waiting to take their picture. Then the words came from Dylan as he reached for the ring in his back pocket and began to kneel “Actually she is taking a video because I am going to propose to you”. Cara’s jaw dropped. She couldn’t believe it, and hadn't ever been happier. Cara promptly snatched the ring out of the box and threw it on her finger. It was safe to say, there would be a wedding soon. Who knew we lived only 5 miles away and didn't meet each other until over 20 years into our lives!

As we count down the days to our wedding, we are filled with gratitude for the love and support of our family and friends. We can’t wait to celebrate this special moment with all of you!
