Venue

Carlshälls Gård sits on Långholmen, a small wooded island in the heart of Stockholm. It was built in 1837 by Carl Modéer, the construction chief of the nearby Långholmen Prison, who wanted a peaceful manor house to enjoy in his later years.
The estate was purchased in 1876 by Lars Olsson Smith, the famous spirits manufacturer known as "Brännvingskungen" — the Vodka King. He transformed the grounds completely, adding a ballroom, a billiard salon, and stables, and his ornamental garden was considered the most beautiful in Stockholm at the time.
In the early 20th century the estate served as a private care facility, and later as a children's home during World War II. After a major restoration in the 1980s, it reopened in 1989 as the venue it is today. It has been recognized by the Stockholm City Museum for its exceptional cultural and historical value — a very special place, and one we couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else.
