I was bartending at Joe's Sports Bar and Abran had came in with some friends and his friend hit on me, however I was not interested. Abran didn't really say much to me but I tried to get a conversation going with him so I got him and I a few rounds of shots. After the holidays during slow season, there were some lay-offs and I was now looking for another job. I eventually got another waitressing job that was pretty far away. Months later, Abran showed up at my new job to hang out with Jessi who was a regular at this restaurant. Jessi pulled me aside and said, "I have a friend that I'd like to introduce you to". This moment I had realized, I already knew him from my previous job. I went over and said hello, and Abran looked kind of nervous and didn't say much. He started coming in the restaurant more and eventually Jessi had asked me to go for drinks with them after work, and at the time I was so exhausted from work that I didn't want to, but Jessi said Abran really wanted me to and that Abran would buy me a drink, so I agreed. Upon going out after work, Abran declined buying me a drink at first then changed his mind. Later that evening, I didn't feel comfortable driving home so I gave Abran my car keys and asked him to drive me. I even made him pull over because I had gotten sick from the drink. I was so embarrassed from getting sick that I never reached back out to Abran. Weeks later, I had a Halloween party at my house and Abran showed up and asked me what I was doing there and I replied, "this is my house". I showed him my dog and chatted for a bit. The next day, I called him asking if he wanted to come back over and help me clean up from the party and he did of course! And after we finished cleaning, he asked me on our first proper official date and to be his girlfriend, while the rest is history!

We went on our first trip out of the country, to Barcelona, Spain. We had a whole itinerary planned but things happened the way they are meant to happen of course. Our first day in Spain, I tripped on the sidewalk and busted my knee, bleeding. On my birthday, he planned for us to go to the botanical garden and we got lost in the dry heat, walking for hours. I was wearing a long dress and heeled sandals, definitely not made for walking. My shoe broke during our hike and my knee was hurting pretty bad from the day before, so we went back to our hotel and relaxed a bit before dinner. I felt so bad that mishaps kept happening and I kept getting kind of hurt, so I wanted to surprise him with a fun day. Plus, he was acting unusual, very quiet and anxious and I wasn't sure why; I thought maybe because we're in an unfamiliar place. After dinner, I made reservations for the following day for a boat tour that overviews the city of Barcelona in the Mediterranean Sea. This was a surprise, and I told him we were going on a tour bus and I remember how disappointed he looked because that sounded super boring and touristy. The next morning I was so excited to surprise him with this boat experience. We made it to the boat and watched the gorgeous views. When the boat docked in the middle of the ocean, the captain called out and said we can now take our pictures and go for a swim. We got up to go swimming and he said, "One second, I want to take a picture for our scrapbook at home." He asked the captain to take our picture and told me to stand at the head of the boat. I leaned on Abran as I always do for our pictures and he kept moving, whilst I had no balance because the boat was rocking from the waves. I turned to tell him I don't have much balance and there he was, on one knee. This experience was suppose to be a surprise to Abran, but I was the one surprised! I didn't even let him speak, I just kept screaming yes!!! Of course I didn't have to think about this, as Abran is my best friend, my everything and I want to spend the rest of my life making him as happy as he makes me! Tears of joy over powered me. The captain came over with champagne. This surprise for Abran turned into the most memorable and exciting day of our lives, and I'm so happy it happened the way it did, how it was meant to be!
