Where is the venue?

Alta Vista Botanical Gardens is located inside the Brengle Terrace Park at the top of the hill. Easiest access is through the second entrance on the left, just past the main entrance to the park. From Los Angeles (approx. 95 miles): Take the 5 Freeway South to Highway 78 East. Take Exit 6B for Vista Village Drive and Turn left. Turn right onto Vale Terrace Drive. Turn left onto Jim Porter Parkway (which is just beyond the main entrance of Brengle Terrace Park). Gardens will be on the left hand side at the top of the hill. Please park in marked stalls across from the entrance. From San Diego (approx. 45 miles): Take the 5 Freeway North to Highway 78 East. Take Exit 6B for Vista Village Drive and Turn left. What Should I Wear?

This is an intimate garden party so, think light and floral. Keep in mind that this is an outdoor event, so sensible footwear is recommended. (i.e. no stilettos!) Since the venue is located fairly near the ocean during early evening hours, a light jacket might be a good idea.

Answer
Nothing! (Except maybe some tissues!) Since this is more of a "destination" wedding, we have limited capacity to transport items back home. Should you feel inclined to offer us a gift, please visit our registry page on this site for suggestions. But please know, that your presence IS our present!

Why this venue, and why on this date?
Answer
25 years ago, Sean and Dyan met just below the Gardens, at the Moonlight Amphitheatre, while performing in the Yeston/Kopit "Phantom". The date is a combination of their lucky numbers.

What else should I know?

* This is an adults-only event (Guests 21 years of age and over only, please). * Due to the unpredictability of the current COVID pandemic, mask-wearing may be required, per the venue. Please come prepared. * Due to the Garden being a public park within the City of Vista, the restroom facilities are limited to portables. There are two portables inside the venue near the ceremonial garden, and a park facility just outside of the Garden entrance. Please, plan accordingly! * The Alta Vista Botanical Garden is a non-smoking environment. (this includes vaping) * Since the Moonlight Amphitheatre has a scheduled performance that evening, our event must end promptly at 7pm. (FYI, the production is "A Chorus Line", directed by Kay Cole, the original 'Maggie' on Broadway. Book your tickets now!)
