How we met

One awkward double date later… here we are.

Sometimes love shows up when you’re least expecting it—like when you think you’re going out for a girls’ night and end up on a blind double date you didn’t sign up for. After a Christmas parade in Green Cove Springs, Sarah was riding to a girls night with a friend who casually mentioned needing to stop by her boyfriend’s apartment to “grab her wallet.” But when they pulled in and her friend stayed in the car, things got suspicious. “They’ll be here in a minute,” she said cryptically. They? Moments later, two cars pulled up—one with her boyfriend, and the other with Chris, who had just finished a shift at Winn-Dixie. He tossed his work shirt in the back, threw on a t-shirt, and jumped into Sarah’s car like it was all totally normal. And just like that, she found herself on a surprise blind date. Earlier that day, Chris’s coworker had shown him Sarah’s Instagram and asked if he’d be interested in going out with her. Chris says the pictures of her holding rifles sealed the deal. (Apparently, nothing says “wife material” like good aim.) That night, Chris was quiet, and Sarah mostly hung out with her friend—thinking that was probably the end of it. But not long after, Chris reached out through a friend of a friend and asked for her number. She was surprised... but curious. They started talking. Then talking some more. Hours on the phone turned into nights they didn’t want to end. Before they knew it, what started as an unexpected night out turned into the beginning of something real, steady, and full of love. Now, they can’t imagine life without each other— and they’re so excited to begin this next chapter as husband and wife.
