Pick it up, pick it up, pick it up!

We are both big fans of the band Streetlight Manifesto and joined an online fan club around the same time. Through the group, we became friends, joining in game nights and karaoke. Eventually we started discord calls between just the two of us. Peter convinced Julia to move to Ohio... and the rest is history.

Peter and Julia spend Christmas alone in their shared home in Marysville, Ohio. Peter had hidden the ring in its box on the bookshelf the night before. Julia and Peter opened the gifts under the tree, stacking the boxes in one end of the room. After opening the last gift, Peter told Julia “there’s one more gift in the tree.” Julia, who had found the ring in Peter’s nightstand just weeks before, started to look in the branches of the tree, thinking “there’s no way he hid the ring in the tree.” While Julia was distracted, Peter grabbed the ring box, got on one knee, and asked “will you marry me?” Julia screamed, spun around, and screamed again before finally saying “yes!” The dog, excited by all the noise, tumbled through the stack of boxes trying to get to Peter and Julia to see what happened.
