Sky and Dwight met at a fraternity party in October 2018 in Fort Myers, Florida. Even though they were both working at the same hospital, they hadn’t noticed each other until that night. A few days after their initial interaction, Sky saw Dwight working at the nurse’s station and was surprised to see him there. She decided to say hi. When Sky greeted him with, “Hi Dwight, how are you?” he was a little confused at first, unsure of who had just spoken to him. But within seconds, he realized it was the girl he had met at the fraternity party a few days earlier, and he was surprised to find out they both worked for the same company. From that point on, they began spending time together within the same friend group, going to events, watching movies, and sharing lunch breaks at work. A year later, Dwight organized an event in Miami and invited some friends, including Sky. While they were all staying at the Airbnb, Dwight decided it was time to tell Sky how he felt about her. To his delight, he found out she felt the same way. On October 28, 2019, Sky and Dwight made their relationship official. They began introducing each other to their families and friends, going to church together, and supporting one another in pursuing higher education. They also took care of each other when they were sick and learned about each other’s cultures. Four years later, on their anniversary, on October 28, 2023, Dwight asked Sky to marry him, and she said YES! Looking back, it wasn’t how they met that mattered most, but who they became together over those five and a half years. It was just the beginning, but it changed everything.
