It all started in the chaos of the COVID-19 pandemic—when the world slowed down, but somehow, fate sped up. We were both ICU nurses working side by side through long, exhausting shifts, hidden behind masks and PPE. Months passed before we truly saw each other. Literally. One night after shift change, Dwayne noticed a phone left at the nurses’ station. He tapped the screen to figure out who it belonged to, and there she was—Goodness, smiling on her lock screen. For the first time, he saw her face without a mask. Curious and maybe a little charmed, Dwayne asked if the phone was hers. Goodness confirmed it—and even opened her Instagram to show more photos, just to be sure. While casually flipping through her feed, Dwayne did something bold: he followed himself from her account. Then handed her the phone with a smile. Goodness left for the night. Dwayne was just starting his shift, but the moment he got a break, he went and watched all 10 of her YouTube videos. (Yes, all 10.) A few days later, the IG DMs started. Before long, we agreed to hang out for lunch at Gloria’s. That lunch turned into hours sitting in the car talking about everything. A few days later, we grabbed ice cream from Braum’s. Then Goodness came out to celebrate Dwayne’s birthday. Soon after, we had our first official date—an afternoon at the Museum of Illusions, followed by dinner and—you guessed it—more ice cream. That night, we decided to become exclusive and be intentional about building something meaningful together. From there, everything began to unfold naturally. We shared adventures, started attending the same church, and somewhere between long shifts, soul-deep conversations, faith-filled moments, uncontrollable laughter, and passport stamps—we just knew: this was it. In March 2025, Dwayne proposed—and now here we are. Surrounded by love, laughter, and all of you. We can’t wait to say “I do.”
