The Invisible Thread Theory suggests that strings are always at work, aligning the stars for the perfect moment when two paths are meant to converge. On separate trips to Toronto to celebrate Caribana, we somehow crossed paths and spent the entire weekend getting to know each other. On the first night we met, Stephen blurted out in line at McDonald’s, “I feel like I’m going to marry you one day.” Taylor thought Stephen was crazy. Who knew nearly a decade later our lives would cross paths again and those words would ring true. Through different phases of life, countless trolling Instagram DMs (cough *Stephen*), living on opposite sides of the country and countless occurrences of running into each other in various cities — in November 2021, our stars aligned. Since then, every moment before feels like a step closer to what was always meant to be.
