Things To Do

We live in a special place! We hope you take some time from celebrating with us to explore! Here are some of our favorite places to visit!
Mesa Verde National Park

Mesa Verde National Park

Mesa Verde, CO

If you've never been to Mesa Verde before...you NEED to go! The 5th National Park created, this was the FIRST national park created to create human creations. If you can, book a ranger led tours (but you have to book them 2 weeks in advance!). Petroglyph Point Trail is a great 2.5 mile loop if you are looking for a more strenuous adventure, but you can also see all the cliff dwellings from the road. We also recommend checking out the Far View Sights, these are some of the oldest in the part and lesser visited.

Geyser Spring Trailhead

Geyser Spring Trailhead

QV4C+VQ, Dunton, CO 81323

The ONLY natural geyser in Colorado. I took Casey on this hike for his birthday in 2021, and we've hiked it a couple times since. It's not too exciting (the geyser just bubbles) but it's fun to say you've seen the only natural geyser in Colorado!

Cortez Celtic Fair @ Parque de Vida

Cortez Celtic Fair @ Parque de Vida

R008724, Cortez, CO 81321

Head down to Parque de Vida for highland games and dances, bands and kids’ activities! Saturday, June 22 from 9 AM - 5 PM. And it’s FREE! More information at: https://cortezcelticfair.com/

Bisti Badlands

Bisti Badlands

NM 87499

The Bisti Badlands are COOL! Petrified wood? Check. Hoodoos? Check. It's a bit of a drive, but definitely worth it!

Sand Canyon and Rock Creek Trailhead

Sand Canyon and Rock Creek Trailhead

12543 Road G, Cortez, CO 81321

Rocks and history - what more could you need? This is one of our favorite hikes in the area, (or mountain bike!) although it can get pretty hot in the summer so bring sun protection and lots of water!

Loungin' Lizard

Loungin' Lizard

2 West Main Street, Cortez, CO 81321

This was a STAPLE of dating in Cortez. We ALWAYS went to Lounging Lizard when Casey came to Cortez.

Telluride

Telluride

Telluride, CO 81435

Telluride is epically beautiful. The gondola is free to ride and the views are INCREDIBLE. Staying for dinner? Casey and I recommend the Wood Ear Whiskey Lounge & Noodle Bar.

ZU Gallery

48 West Main Street, Cortez, CO 81321

The Zu is where it is AT! Casey host his monthly wine classes here and Jodi (the owner) is just wonderful. You can view (and buy) arts from local artists and listen to local music and enjoy local beer and wine. Definitely go to the Zu.

Durango Hot Springs Resort & Spa

6475 County Road 203, Durango, CO 81301

Hot springs....need we say more?

For all the days along the way
