We first met while lifeguarding at Sandcastle Waterpark. It all started as a summer friendship — long days in the sun, sharing laughs, and eventually… a few Snapchat messages here and there. When Jake ran out of data one day, he asked for Mia’s number, and that’s when everything truly began. It took Mia a little while to agree to a first date (she was just a bit nervous!), but when she finally did, we ended up at Denny’s. The waitress asked how long we’d been together — little did she know, it was our very first date! Not long after, college took us in different directions — many two-hour drives back and forth between Slippery Rock and UPJ followed, but every mile was worth it. Fast forward to 2023, when we started talking about living together. Jake told Mia we couldn’t get a dog until we had our own place, and Mia quickly responded, “Let’s go to this adoption event.” Jake knew right then they weren’t coming home empty-handed — and that’s how Nala, our sweet pup, became part of our family. Then, in November 2024 — after almost six years together — Jake finally popped the question. He told Mia they were going out for a nice dinner at Eddie Merlot’s, but when they arrived, he said he “messed up the reservation.” He suggested a walk in the rain, and when they reached a beautiful city view, Jake got down on one knee. Today, we spend most of our time spoiling Nala, hanging out with friends and family, cheering on Pittsburgh sports, and traveling whenever we can. We can’t wait to start this next chapter together — and we’re so excited to celebrate it with all of you!
