Our favorite coffee shop! Our go-to orders are cold brews and vanilla lattes. Don't forget to take a selfie in the mirror! If you want a pastry to go with your drink, walk over next door to The Flour District, a french inspired bakery! We love ordering to-go and taking a walk on Rivermont!
For all our foodie lovers, we love all our local eateries and think you will too! Breakfast: Bacon St. Bagels, Blue Ridge Bagels, My Dog Dukes Diner, and Batter Bar Lunch & Dinner: Farm Basket, Rivermont Pizza, Magnolia Foods, Water Dog, Isabella’s, Iron and Ale, Mizumi Dessert: Rookies, Maylynns, Mr. Goodies
The most beautiful trail system that runs throughout downtown! Go on a morning walk or run and grab a coffee at Nomad Coffee shop, available at the Langhorne entrance. RENT A BIKE from Bikes Unlimited and see all that the trails have to offer! The options are endless and we have a feeling you will love this trail as much as we do!
Explore a national parkway that is known for its scenic beauty! Take in the view of the blue ridge mountains and stop by scenic overlooks. Our favorite is Thunder Ridge Overlook, where Ryan proposed!
There is an endless amount of beautiful hikes to go on, all within an hour- two hour drive of lynchburg! Here are some of our favorites: Sharp Top- This 3.4 mile round trip hike leads to a stunning summit. If hiking a steep incline isn't what your looking for, hop on over across the street to Peaks of Otter! This is a beautiful lodge that has a mile loop walking trail around the lake! Crabtree Falls- This scenic 2.5-mile loop trail is moderate to strenuous with a steep incline and rocky terrain. Hikers should allow 1.5 to 2.5 hours for the entire hike. https://www.virginia.org/listing/crabtree-falls-trail/6681/
Possibly one of our favorite things to do in Virginia, exploring and visiting all of the amazing breweries and wineries! Here are some of our favorite places to grab a drink around town: Starr Hill Brewery, The Reserve, No. 7 Rooftop Bar, Skyline Rooftop Bar, Beales Brewery. If you're up for a drive, you can get to these beautiful spots in just an hour! Just make sure you have a designated driver :) Bold Rock Cider, Pippin Hill Farm and Vineyards, Potters Craft Cidery. If you are planning for a longer weekend, we also highly recommend checking out the Virginia Wine and Craft Beer Trails! https://www.virginia.org/things-to-do/food-and-drink/breweries-and-craft-beer/
The most charming downtown! We highly recommend a Saturday morning visit to the farmers market where you can find the sweetest vendors selling fresh pastries, flowers, and produce! From there, the options are endless! Here are a few of our favorite spots: Threaded: A sustainable focused thrift and fair trade item store that empowers communities around the world! Located right across from the Downtown Market. While you're there on Main St, stop in the neighboring stores like Hip Tulip and White Hart Cafe! Ploughcroft Tea Room- Experience an authentic British team room, historic cuisine, and a selection of tea and coffee. They serve both lunch and afternoon tea, with multiple experiences to choose from! One of the best resources to explore all that downtown has to offer is to check out The Downtown Lynchburg Association, where you can find out all there is to do! https://downtownlynchburg.com/
