Things To Do

We absolutely love North Carolina and look forward to moving back soon. Here are a few of our favorite places in the triangle area!

Duke University

Durham, NC 27708

Tia's alma mater. GO DEVILS

North Carolina State University

Raleigh, NC 27695

Dustin's alma mater. GO PACK

Shelley Lake Park

1400 West Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27612

This was one of our favorite places to walk our dogs. If you're looking for a trail to walk/run this is a good option!

Dorothea Dix Park

1030 Richardson Drive, Raleigh, NC 27603

Opening soon at Dorthea Dix Park is the Gipson Play Plaza which will be the largest adventure playground in the Southeast. The exact opening date has not been released yet. Hopefully it will be open by wedding weekend, but if not Dorothea Dix is a great attraction itself!

North Carolina Museum of Art

2110 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh, NC 27607

See beautiful art installations while taking a walk!

Glenwood South

Raleigh, NC 27603

Dustin picked Tia up from Cornerstone Tavern for our first "date". If you're looking for a night on the town, Glenwood has no shortage of bars to choose from. Just know that there may also be a lot of college-aged people there.

North Hills

Raleigh, NC

This is a trendy area with lots of shopping options, restaurants, and bars. This is the area where one of the hotels is located!

Downtown

Raleigh, NC

There are lots of restaurant and bar options here as well. Moore Square is a nice public park in the area.

Trophy Brewing & Taproom

656 Maywood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27603

If you want to try a local beer, Trophy is one of the best in the area!

Shooters II

827 West Morgan Street, Durham, NC 27701

Tia spent WAY too many of her nights in undergrad at this lovely establishment (ask her Duke friends). While she certainly wouldn't be able to hang with the youngins these days, she had to put it up here out of pure nostalgia. Lucky for you the semester will be over making the club way less crowded than normal. Take a drive by to see where Tia willingly spent around $40 a month to be pushed, stepped on, and occasionally accosted by petty UNC basketball fans. Fun fact: Dustin went to Shooters once during college on a Saturday night. Little did he know his future wife was likely in that very same space on that very same day...
