Forever and Always

Dustin and Sharlee met online on OkCupid shortly after Dustin moved to Arizona from Wisconsin. After a few weeks of emailing, texting, and talking on the phone the day came for them to meet face-to-face. On February 2, 2016, Sharlee left her office for their first date, telling her friends to call the cops if she did not show back up to work. What she found when she got to Smash Burger was something she had not expected- Dustin was waiting for her with flowers. It was the first time a guy had bought her flowers. Their second date was attending a church service with her daughter Nevaeh and Dustin's family, followed by a Super Bowl party with his family. Things went well for the next month, except for the receptionist at her job growing tired of him bringing special deliveries of coffee, flowers, and chocolates for Sharlee. Their first big test came when they took a road trip to Wisconsin that summer with her son Zachary, which went better than expected. The next year brought more time getting to know and bonding with each other's family and friends. This all led up to their special engagement, but that is a story for another time.

Dustin only bought the diamond for Sharlee's ring, and then borrowed a ring from his mom to ask the big question. He proceeded to plan a special dinner for the family making Chicken Marsala (her favorite). Then, after dinner, he told her that the kids had a surprise for her, and had her close her eyes as Zachary and Nevaeh went and grabbed the ring box and brought it to her. As she opened it Dustin said it came with a question, and proceeded to ask her to marry him. She then asked the kids what they thought and all three said YES!
