Dustin and Savanah both grew up in Crawfordville, FL. At Wakulla High School, they would smile and say hello to each other in the hallways. At Dustin's junior prom, they took a picture together even though they were not attending as "dates". Savanah considers this the first sign that they were meant to be together, even though they didn't realize it at the time. It doesn't make sense why they would take that picture together, other than the influence of fate. A little over a year later, Dustin went to a church camp with Savanah's youth group and they started to really get to know each other and developed a wonderful friendship. By the end of that summer, they officially became boyfriend and girlfriend. Dustin was always there for Savanah through multiple major changes and rollercoasters that come with being a college student. Savanah was there for Dustin as he moved out for the very first time and began exploring careers. They grew up and became adults together; all while falling more and more in love with each other.
In May 2020, a lot was going on in the world and in their lives. The COVID-19 pandemic was in full swing, but even more happened one weekend in May. Dustin asked Savanah's parents for their blessing on May 8th, 2020; they all watched Savanah virtually graduate with her Master's Degree on May 9th, 2020; and Dustin popped the question during family pictures on May 10th, 2020. They are both so excited and hopeful for their future together as husband and wife.
