It’s Happening!!!

Long, long ago, in a single’s ward far, far away... a beautiful, intelligent, sweet woman started attending the student ward with her older sister. There she met a very handsome, funny, witty guy that was friends with her sister. Spoiler alert: those two people are us! She was so stunningly beautiful that i was intimidated to ever make a move on her. One day, I got the guts to ask her if she might possibly be open to one day maybe consider hanging out with me and, i don’t know, go in a date sometime... and to my astonishment, she said YES! Shocked, I immediately drop the ball, didnt get her phone number, and never went on the date... Fast forward over a decade, after my divorce, I reach out to her to reconnect and see if maybe i could still cash in that date! After 7 months of little messages, then going through ger sister, she replies to me, I got that number and lined up that date 12 years in the making. Our first date was kind of a flop and I’m lucky she went on a second date with me. But this love story is all about second chances... After a week and almost not happening, I got a second date: hiking and a picnic. It was absolutely perfect. We confided in each other and found a safe space to express our deepest secrets, our hopes and dreams. We kissed by the lake. We talked more. Dusk passed and we gazed at the stars, cuddled on the picnic blanket and spoke to each other, heart to heart for hours. We kissed some more, talked some more, and connected on a deeper level than either one of us knew was possible. It’s like God has a plan for all of us and puts us in each other’s lives for a reason at the perfect time. I know that’s true. We’ve been inseparable since. She completes me and I complete her. It seriously is like magic and it blows me away every day how blessed I am to have reconnected with the one whom I now know is my soulmate: That beautiful, intelligent, sweet woman that got away all those years ago.
