It all started in the summer of 2019 at the St. Louis Zoo. Dustin was a young audit associate leading a KPMG event, and Maggie was a college student hoping to land an internship. He remembered the cute brunette in his group that night—even if she didn't quite remember him. In January of 2020, Maggie landed that internship and Dustin, now in his hardest months at the firm, found out the cute brunette from the zoo would be his intern for the next 4 weeks. If you ask their parents - they both came home talking about each other. If you ask them - no way! Although the sparks weren’t flying between them quite yet, the seed had been planted. Fast forward to winter of 2022, Dustin had taken a job in accounting at Schnucks and Maggie was back at KPMG, but fate—or maybe Hinge—brought them back together. They matched, exchanged numbers, and shared a few laughs and late-night messages, but timing wasn’t quite right yet. Still, they never fully drifted out of each other’s orbit. In the summer of 2023, a new job for Maggie nudged things forward again. Maggie’s boss noticed Dustin had congratulated her on LinkedIn and suggested she ask him to lunch as a potential client. She did, and soon after, Dustin got the confidence to officially ask her out. Their first real date at Sasha’s on Shaw was fun and easy—but life got in the way for both of them. Although things paused romantically, they kept up with each other via Nick’s pub rendezvous and Dustin’s frequent Sunday texts to Maggie slandering the Chiefs. On Valentine’s Day 2024, they finally figured it out. Dustin, home sick with COVID and feeling brave (or maybe feverish), decided to reach out to Maggie one more time. Naturally, she reached out to her group chat for advice. Her best friends gave her a little push, and she agreed to go on another date. Almost 6 months after their first attempt, in March of 2024, Dustin & Maggie met at Planter’s House. The conversation flowed, the laughter never stopped, and one quick kiss sealed something real. From that night on, they were inseparable. What started as a chance meeting at work turned into years of near misses, unexpected reconnections, and finally, the love story they were always meant to live.
