Our romance started like most great 21st century love stories; via the interwebs. After chatting for a bit and finding several common interests (books, movies, a distaste for former resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue), we decided it's probably a good idea to see if this works in person. Our first date was at Jack Rose Dining Saloon. Dustin didn't know proper bourbon etiquette, pouring from the bottle that was meant for display. Lauren was kind enough not to correct him. But all in all it was a success. Our second date was Dustin assemblying a kitchen table for Lauren while avoiding the incessant barking of a one of Lauren's friends dogs, Boston. The assembly was a success, Boston and Dustin are now good friends, and Lauren and Dustin's romance continued to flourish leading to a third date! And the rest is history...
Weeks before Dustin had thrown out the idea of going for a hike. It was a chilly, but gorgeous day. We drove out to George Washington National Forrest, got the car stuck in snow, but still made it to the summit of Big Schloss. Just as we were descending, after Lauren had slipped in some snow, Dustin decided to pop the question. Spoiler: Lauren said yes!
