Our Story

It all started with a lifeguard and a powerpoint..

Our story began at Colorado Christian University, where we both attended college. I always knew of Dustin in college, because he and his friends were extremely hard to miss, always pulling stunts like when they dressed up as lifeguards at our spring formal (photo on our gallery page....), or walking into any unsuspecting apartment on campus that happened to leave their door open. It wasn't until at a grad party in 2021 that Dustin and I first spoke. I found him lingering around me the entire evening, even laughing at a joke I made from across the room. I figured, either this guy is interested in me, or he is sort of awkward. It turned out that both things were true! Dustin asked me out later that fall, via text. I said yes, to which Dustin did not reply at all. Confused? I was too.. especially when he finally followed up almost a year later asking if he could have a second chance at taking me out. Figuring I had nothing to lose, I told Dustin he could either write me a persuasive essay or make me a powerpoint on why I should go out with him. To my amusement, Dustin took me up on the offer, and we started our first date off with his presentation. Honorable topics from the slideshow include his ability to make stromboli and love for movies. I was certainly drawn in by Dustin's humor and seamless slide transitions, but it wasn't until many months and several dates later that I knew he was the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.
