A little love, a little laughter and, finally, happily ever after!

On a clear, cold, and windy night in late January, Brian, our officiant, and Dustin were going to Jackie's Brickhouse. Jackie's is a local restaurant with live music in Kemah, TX. Fortunately, Jessica, her mother Noreen, and some neighbor friends were also going to Jackie's to see the local 80's band that was performing. While sitting outside, Dustin noticed a nearby woman standing outside in a short sleeve shirt, seemingly unfazed by the chilly weather. She also had a young girl standing next to her (neighbor, Lexi). Noreen, an Ohio native and noted conversationalist, probably noticed the attention and started a quick back and forth between the guys explaining that her thick skin and strong northern genes complimented the weather well. Lexi loudly mentioned her support of the Chicago White Sox (yuck) and decided to slander the best major league baseball team in the last decade, God's team... The Houston Astros (as Dustin, an avid Astros fan, was wearing an Astros hat). After a few minutes, the girls went inside while the guys listened to the acoustic performer outside. Dustin, who is well known for his punctuality, arrived early that night and had opened tab inside prior to Brian's arrival. After a while, he went to close his tab since him and Brian were sitting outside. As he stepped outside to rejoin Brian, Lexi was near the entrance with Jessica. After a few jeers from Lexi about the Astros, Dustin invited them to their table with a heater. They talked for a little bit before going back inside to join Noreen and Lexi's mother. Not too long afterwards, Noreen made her way outside and joined the guys at their table. She grilled them about their jobs, age, future goals, etc. She went back inside and later returned with Jessica. Lexi and her mother had gone home at this point. Brian performed masterfully as a wingman, engaging with Noreen so Dustin and Jessica could get to know each other. It was at this moment Jessica and Dustin would be connected forever. They unknowingly met the love of their lives. It was the beginning of their story and will forever be the most unexpected, beautiful chance encounter.
