We first met making pizza at Papa Murphy's. Dustin was the district manager and traveled between stores, but whenever I knew he'd be at my store, I'd try to look as cute as one could in an oversized men's polo shirt, apron, and ridiculous visor. After working together for a few years and secretly having a big, fat crush on one another, we decided that I should put in my 2 week notice so we could actually try dating. Clearly it was worth it, because over 7 years later, here we are!
After driving to Sturgeon Bay for what I thought was going to be a relaxing day hiking at some of the parks, Dustin drove to a hidden little beach at Portage Park. After finding the perfect sandy spot away from anyone else, he started to say that this beach was historic. If you know Dustin, you know that he loves history. Honestly, I was ready to tune him out because I thought I was about to get a long and drawn out history lesson. However, this time he quickly went on to say that this spot was historic because someday we will be able to tell our kids that this was the spot that he proposed. After that he definitely had my full attention. He pulled out the box he'd been hiding in his backpack, got down on one knee, and popped the question I'd been waiting for!
