Grab a coffee and take a walk on the Lady Bird Lake Hike and Bike Trail, which is walking distance from the Marriott in Downtown Austin (walk across Congress Bridge). This 10 mile trail runs along Lady Bird Lake and features amazing views of the Austin skyline. You can also rent kayaks and paddle boards here as well (weather permitting of course).
South Congress is a must visit for anyone new to Austin! This iconic Austin street has amazing places to eat, shop and of course shop for cowboy boots. Our favorites are: Torchy's Tacos, June's, Joann's Fine Foods, Cafe No Se, Two Hands, Jo's Coffee, Amy's Ice Cream. Best places to shop: Tecova's, Allen's Boots, Maurfais, Kendra Scott Flagship Store plus a few chain stores here as well - Lululemon, Nike, All Birds, Madewell, Alo Yoga etc.
Our favorite BBQ in Austin - hands down! Dustin and I love the brisket in particular, but you really can't go wrong. Terry Blacks is almost always busy and they do not take reservations, but the line does typically move pretty fast and is always worth the wait! Come hungry!
Loro is an Asian meets TX restaurant brought to you by James Beard Award winners, Chef Tyson Cole of Uchi and Aaron Franklin of Franklin Barbecue. They have a super unique menu and an awesome outdoor patio. They do not take reservations but you can grab a drink while you wait. We recommend the beef brisket, pork belly, corn fritters and the frozen gin & tonic!
