Question

What's with this "altitude sickness" stuff in Colorado?

Answer

It's REAL! But fear not, it can be mitigated by taking a few precautions! Ideally, come a couple days early and spend your first night in Denver to allow your sea-level body to adjust to the mountains! Take it easy your first day or two and please HYDRATE! Drink more water than you do at home and keep in mind that 1 alcoholic drink in high altitude feels like 2 (we're all cheap dates in Colorado!). Almost every store in Estes sells canned oxygen which is also very helpful.

Question

What are you going to feed us for dinner at this lil' wedding?!

Answer

We had to bring a bit of Texas love to Colorado, so we will be serving BBQ! This caterer comes highly recommended by our wedding planner and hundreds of other married couples who have used them before us-we're excited! The menu will include the following: Sliced beef brisket Shredded chicken Cheddar smoked sausage Potato salad Mac & cheese Green beans Garden salad Buns/rolls

Question

What time does your wedding end?

Answer

Whenever you're ready to call it a night! We have bought out the entire 26 acres of the venue until 11am Sunday and guests are welcome to stay as long as they'd like on Saturday. There are even hot tubs and saunas outside on the property so feel free to bring swimsuits in case you decide a late-night soak under the stars is just what you need to end your day! We will not have any formal "exit" so the wedding ends at each loved one's own discretion.

Question

What will the weather be like while we are there?

Answer

Think SUNSHINE, people...please! :) June in Colorado is typically warm, with more mild heat temps up in Estes Park vs. Denver. When we went this summer, we happened to be there during one of their "heat waves" according to the locals and it was in the low 90's during the day (but it's a DRY heat!). Afternoon/evening showers and wind are common in Estes during June, but we are begging the weather gods to bless us with a dry and sunny wedding evening. Temps drop into the 50's (or even 40's) at night so you'll definitely want to pack that hoodie or jacket of yours!
