It is an epic love story for the ages; the innocence of a first love, an enduring friendship from high school through college and into our twenties, to finally reunite in our 40’s to fall in love all over again. It was 1990… we met on Valentine’s Day (of course) in our high school PE class. Over that summer, we spent countless hours on the phone imagining and exploring our vision of ideal love, which still serves as our foundation to this day. We were each other’s first “I love you”. Although only allowed to be friends at the time by our parents, a strong and lasting friendship blossomed and endured between us for years. When she moved to San Diego to attend university, he would frequently visit and in this way was introduced to the city where we both now live together. Sadly, we fell out of touch for a period of about 15 years as we walked separate paths but thankfully in our 40’s we reunited and fell in love all over again. And now we are finally getting married! Knowing we will spend the rest of our days together brings us such a sense of joy and gratitude. Thank you so much for sharing our special day, 28 years in the making.
