Andres devised a plan with a group of their friends to surprise Courtney with a proposal under The Globe monument in AT&T District. In order to pull this off successfully the group made an inconspicuous reservation at a brunch spot next door. It unusually snowed for most of this week which threatened the plan, but on the morning of the proposal the sunshine cleared it all up. They were good to go! Their friends arrived early to the location ready to take photos, video, sprinkle rose petals, and lure her to the spot. They soon realized another unplanned obstacle... a Chinese New Year celebration about to kick off at the plaza with drums and music. Their friends pleaded with the director to stall the celebration, and were able to buy Andres just enough time. Andres and Courtney arrived and were quickly convinced to take a pre-brunch photo underneath The Globe. Andres turned, got down on one knee, and pulled out a cowboy hat shaped ring box from his pocket. He asked Courtney to marry him, and without hesitation she said "yes" in tears of joy. As she did, the Chinese New Year drummers and percussion erupted in celebration alongside their friends and nearby onlookers. Andres, Courtney, and friends celebrated with a champagne topped brunch, and called to tell their loved ones.
