Lucas and I got married on March 28, 2020 in front of a few family members and friends. We're now excited to celebrate our union with all of you! We are going to have a short vow renewal followed by our wedding reception. Please see our Covid Concerns page if you have any questions about the safety measures we will be taking. Invites have been sent out so please RSVP by August 1st.
Lucas and Sarah met unexpectedly when Sarah was a student at the University of South Carolina. Sarah walked into her apartment and there was Lucas, sitting on the couch playing Magic: The Gathering and wearing a hat with a giant gamecock on it. He made quite the first impression! As time passed, they became friends and eventually started dating. The rest is history!
Lucas enlisted the help of Sarah's best friend, Alexis Corrao, when it came to planning the proposal. He bought tickets for Sarah and him to see Atlanta Ballet's The Nutcracker on December 9, 2018. This was significant because going to see The Nutcracker was a yearly tradition for Sarah and her grandmother who passed away the year before. Lucas and Sarah enjoyed the show and afterwards took a walk through Piedmont Park in downtown Atlanta. They ended up at a gazebo on a lake where Sarah was surprised to find red rose petals leading to a picnic with cheesecake and hot chocolate (it was very cold for Georgia!). Lucas got down on one knee and proposed, and of course Sarah said yes! Alexis and her wife, Erecca, were hiding in the bushes trying to take pictures after they sneakily set up the picnic and rose petals during the ballet. Afterwards the entire group went out for pizza to celebrate!
