Shawn and Alyssa met on Hinge. We know how that sounds. Honestly, we could have made up an elaborate story to tell all of you to avoid the embarrassment. We were in the right place at the right time. Not in a "we both happen to be at the grocery store buying chocolate ice cream" kind of way, but more in a right place and right time in life - kind of way. Both coming off of relationships that made us scared to put ourselves back out there, both nervous to be out there because we were getting older and pickings were running slim. Both excited for the next steps in life but with no one to share it with. With these lingering thoughts of being behind, this really jumpstarted our conversations. We talked about everything and anything, no topics were off the table. Turns out, there were invisible strings. The Lainey Wilson concert at the State Fair the year before, we were both there. And by the looks of the videos, in the same area! We both played softball/baseball in high school and probably have watched each other play at some point. There's so many other crossovers that would take up this whole text. We met when we were supposed to. Everything we talked about, shared, joked about seemed like we had already been dating for 5 years. It all just clicked. After a few weeks of Alyssa putting Shawn off, they finally went on their first date. She was nervous, could you blame her -haha! There was not enough time in the day for them. They went to dinner and decided to grab drinks after at a local brewery so the conversation could continue. The next night, Shawn was hosting his friends Corey, Cody and Murphy for the UFC fights. You would have thought Corey was interviewing a criminal based on the questions he was asking Alyssa -haha! He claims she earned his approval, and I guess she did because here we all are! From that day on, they have been inseparable. Alyssa and her fur babies moved in back in November 2024. Since then, they've traveled and experienced a lot of new things together. They bought a camper and did some traveling. She learned that Shawn can't go a week without mozzarella sticks. Thank god for the airfryer! He learned Alyssa gets cranky without coffee. They've been to the Royal Rumble in Indianapolis, a few Giants games at MetLife Stadium, and Shawn went on his first Cruise August 2025 where he proposed to Alyssa on the beach in Miami. She's waited her whole life to be loved like he loves her and he's waited his whole life to love someone like her. We're so happy to be sharing Our Day with you all. we're so excited for what this next chapter will bring. After the wedding, we plan to buy and house and do some traveling. And when the time is right, we'll start a family of our own.
