Our story started on the first day of orientation at Saint Michael's College. We took part in the school's alumni photo with our dads. Although we didn't know it at the time, our first moment together was captured standing next to each other on the front steps of the Saint Mike's chapel. Weeks later, Matt was introduced to the "soccer girls" by his good friend and teammate, Hunter. Matt remembers walking in to Danielle and Alex's dorm room and meeting Emily and the rest of the girl gang. We became fast friends based on the foundations of laughter, looking out for one another, ski shots, and genuinely enjoying each other's company. This friendship naturally grew into a committed relationship. Emily knew this relationship would work out because of Matt's willingness to watch Elf with her instead of heading to the bars one Thursday night. Fast forward 7 years later and our relationship is still rooted in laughter, looking out for each other, and enjoying each other's company (we leave the skis on our feet). We can't wait to keep adventuring through life together as best friends and look forward to celebrating with you!
Matt knew the only way he could surprise Emily, also known as "homeland", off guard was to propose to her when she was least expecting it. Matt recruited the help of both families to pull off this surprise. The playbook was quite elaborate but got the win thanks to some stellar teamwork. On a beautiful Nor'Easter day, Matt proposed to Emily on the same steps where their first picture was taken together in front of the Saint Michael's College chapel.
