How We Met

Jessie's perspective: It had been a year since I was sick with cancer and a good friend (shout out to Arielle) suggested that I start dating again. She helped me put together a profile on a dating app so I could start mingling. She then invited me to a comedy show the next day in Boston. Reluctantly, I decided to go and to my dismay, the show was tiny. (There were probably like 30-35 people in the audience.) This was actually my first ever comedy show and I had no idea what to expect. Towards the end of the show there was a very cute red head on the show who was wearing a shirt that was comparable to Bert or Ernie's. He was funny, captivating, and extremely charming. Fast forward to the next day... I was a match with the cute red head from the show on the dating app! I called Arielle immediately and we giggled on the phone together. I messaged him explaining how I was at his show the night before and how I thought he was very funny. He wrote that he remembered me and that he recognized me to be the girl in the third row, in the jean jacket. WHAT?! When we talked it was easy, fun, and exciting. Our first date was six hours long, and we have been together ever since. :) Rob's perspective: I almost didn't make it. An earlier comedy show that I was performing on ran much longer than expected, which meant getting to show #2 would be tough. They threw me on stage the moment I arrived, and suddenly my nerves kicked in. Looking out at blank faces in the audience, I searched for reassurance, and found it in the comforting smile of a beautiful girl. Though her warmth & kindness was evident, I was too much of a wuss to approach her afterwards. Fortunately, the very next day, fate intervened & connected us on a dating app. Our conversations were effortless. Our chemistry was immediate. After a few dates, I knew my life would change forever.
