We met in high school: Natalie's family was on furlough and we ended up going to the same school for our 10th grade year. We were not interested in each other, but did develop a deep friendship (which Natalie remembers more of than David :P) Our friendship continued on to our freshman year of college, and we hung out a lot. Natalie always told her friends that David would never work for her, and they all smiled knowingly every time. They probably saw something that she didn't. Halfway through freshman year, Natalie thought David was interested in her and promptly slammed the door to that thought. She was not the most tactful, gracious person but David was patient and kind and continued to simply pursue a friendship. We discovered, however, that God's ways are better than our ways. Only a short time after Natalie told David she would never like him, she began to question her decision. One thing led to another, and we started dating a year later in January of 2018. We got engaged at Furman University, a beautiful campus near our campus in South Carolina on April 28, 2019. We graduate from college in December, and cannot wait until our wedding! We plan to stay in Greenville for a few years to continue our education, with plans to go overseas in the future.
