update! THE WEDDING WILL BE HELD ON ST. AUGUSTINE GREEN ON THE BACKSIDE OF ROSEMARY.

Who loves Christmas more than Stephanie and I... I'll wait... Nobody! Who loves getting engaged on Christmas? Stephanie and I! I decided to surprise Stephanie and propose to her on Christmas. I had her fully convinced I was unable to get to STL on Christmas Day but would be there first thing in the morning on the 26th. I made a loose plan with her mom and sister, Audrey, and started making my way over to STL. However, I did TONS of prep work to make sure she wouldn't know I was coming because there is a 4.5-5 hour period where I will be in the car. This consisted of: - Facetime RIGHT before I got on the road - A change of clothes in case she called while I was driving (I never dress up on Christmas) - Let her know I was going to my dad's and then my grandmother's and would be VERY busy I got to STL a little early and a tad bit nervous so I pulled into the Walgreens down the street and reapplied my deodorant. Finally got the thumbs up text from Audrey and it was go time. The plan was to have Audrey say, "Everyone go outside for one last present!" and I would surprise Stephanie. Obviously it didn't go exactly as planned. Instead, we had Jackson and Eli outside playing America Ninja Warrior (sweet gift). I was nervous they weren't in on the mission so instead of sneaking all the way down to the house I hid behind a tree in the neighbor's yard. The whole family walked out to watch the boys complete the obstacle course. I, very James Bond-like, snuck out from behind the tree and waltzed on over to the front yard, got down on one knee and BOOM! We are engaged! Stephanie was totally caught off guard which is exactly what I wanted. Her best friend, Elley, managed to take 146 pictures with only her arm sticking out from the side of the house. It was all perfect and now we get to celebrate even more with all of you on September 26th!

We met on Bumble like every normal 20 something in 2016... honestly do people still meet in person? We both swiped right and I asked Stephanie to go to the Dallas Safari Convention on a Sunday afternoon for our first date... talk about romantic! I bought a cowhide rug trying to impress her and I think it either worked or confused her. We are getting married so it had to be the former and the rest is history... So why did we end up in Rosemary/30-A? We both visited Seaside/30-A every year as young kids. We would both tell you it is a place we hold dear to our hearts and was one of our first bonding common grounds. It is so very special to us and we are excited to share it with you! CHEERS!
