Our story goes back to our summer camp days. We were 15 and 16 when we met at a camp dance, and awkwardly slow-danced to probably something like "Hey There Delilah." Dan memorized Julia's last name and friended her on Facebook as soon as he could log in to the camp computer. Julia didn't have access to the internet that summer, so Dan had wait a little bit for that request to be accepted. We talked on Skype and Facebook Messenger over the following school year and developed a friendship, then feelings. We dated long-distance as high schoolers for about 9 months, and then broke up before college. Fast forward to 2018, a year or two after graduation, and Dan took to Facebook Messenger (a blast from the past) to reconnect with Julia. A summer of long phone calls while Julia was a camp counselor at Arcadia, and Dan was thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail...and by the end of the summer, we had found each other again.
