So put on your party outfits and your dancing shoes and get ready to celebrate with us!

The Proposal

March 10, 2019

It was monsooning on Sunday March 10th. We went out for our Sunday brunch at Poxabogue with Mark's family and they all knew what was going to happen in a few hours, but I was oblivious. The day before, I had decided to go grocery shopping for a bunch of stuff because I was in a cooking mood. I had planned to make some soup, homemade granola, and some other stuff. After brunch, we took a drive down to the beach like we often do...there was almost no beach so we headed home. When we got home, I got to work and mixed up my granola and popped it in the oven. While that was baking I was also making my soup on the stove and stirring away when Mark walked into the kitchen. He came up next to me and said, "Remember how you told me that Valentine's day was just another day and that it would mean more if I surprised you with something special on a random day?" I shook my head and continued to stir my soup and then he said that he had something to give me. I turned around and he was on one knee holding a box. My eyes bugged out of my head and through a very shaky voice Mark asked me to marry him! I immediately threw my arms around him and started crying. We were both shaking at this point and I was so happy I couldn't even form words. About 10 minutes went bye and all of a sudden I said "Oh sh*t I think I burnt the granola!" Little did I know, Mark had planned this whole thing. He had secretly asked my parents to come up, so that we could celebrate and they were already waiting for us with Rick and Pam. Mark had originally wanted to propose on the beach, but seeing as there was literally no beach, plan b went into effect. Months prior to this, we were talking one night while I was making dinner, and he asked me about proposals and what I wanted. I said "I'd be happy if you did it right here in the kitchen." So...that's what happened!
